MEDIA RELEASE 19th Feb 2014

ELECTION FORUM ON CLIMATE CHANGE

Find out more about our potential leaders’ approach to this important but contentious issue.

Cassy O’Connor (Greens), Madeline Ogilvie (Labor), Matthew Groom (Liberal), Mark Grube (Palmer United Party) and Shaine Stephen (Socialist Alliance) will present their party’s policy on climate change at a public forum on Thursday 27th February. Peter Boyer, climate and energy columnist for The Mercury will chair the meeting. Climate Action Hobart spokesperson John McRae said that after hearing from each of the speakers the public will be given the opportunity to ask questions to find out more about our potential leaders’ approach to this important but contentious issue.

The Forum is organised by Climate Action Hobart, a politically unaligned group with a deep concern for urgent action to reduce global warming in the coming decade. They are supported by the Australian Youth Climate Coalition, Sustainable Living Tasmania, Environment Tasmania, and Doctors for the Environment Tasmania.

The forum will be held at Wesley Hall, 58 Melville St, Hobart at 7.30pm on Thursday 27th Feb. Admission is free.
